MS Office is a office suite which is serving the people for many years now and this office suite includes applications like MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc. Office 2010 Portable has got many improvements and the most notable one is Ribbon based menu system which was not gone well with the users at 1 st in the year 2007 and now loads of changes have been made in the ribbons for making it more easier to use.
Despite what many users think, there’s no such thing as Excel Portable, in other words, there’s no official portable version of Microsoft’s spreadsheet software that’s included within the Office suite. Unlike what many people think, Microsoft has never released a reduced version of this program although you might have seen announcements about the download of this product. Don’t be fooled, on the majority of occasions they are simply fake apps, frauds or pirated versions. In this last case that’s because there are users with enough skills to trim down EXEs to make them run as portable software thanks to programs of the likes of ThinApp or VMWare or any other app specialized in the creation of EXE files. But this is obviously a pirate procedure as it involves infringing the terms and conditions of use imposed by Microsoft.
But if you don’t mind expanding your horizons, you can go for the mobile version of Excel or resort to using Office 365, the cloud version of Office that also includes an online version of Excel. In this field we can also resort to Google Docs and its cloud office suite with similar features. However, if you don’t want to leave Windows, you’ll have to resort to any other office suite that does offer a portable version as is the case of LibreOffice and OpenOffice.

As you can imagine, portable versions are smaller in size and allow us to use the software without having to install anything, which is great if we’ve only got access to computers at public entities with restrictions or hardly any storage capacity. However, we’re sorry to say that Excel doesn’t have a version of this nature for Windows.

If you have the full version of Power Pivot, you can use the DAX formula language to create new calculated fields. From the Power Pivot tab in the Ribbon, choose Measures, New Measure.
Give the field a name, such as Variance. When you go to type the formula, type =[. As soon as you type the square bracket, Excel gives you a list of fields to choose from.

Note that you can also assign a numeric format to these calculated fields. Wouldn’t it be great if regular pivot tables brought the numeric formatting from the underlying data?
In the next calculation, VariancePercent is reusing the Variance field that you just defined.
So far, you've added several calculated fields to the pivot table, as shown below.
But you don’t have to leave any of those fields in the pivot table. If your manager only cares about the variance percentage, you can remove all of the other numeric fields.
